All businesses are actually in the business of sales. It is no different for network marketing. Having sales and marketing skills is critical to success in network marketing.

However, if all that we have to sell people is our products and MLM opportunity, then we are all nothing but glorified sales reps. And we all know that nobody wants to have a conversation with a salesman because no one gets hyped up about having to come up with excuses as to why they cannot buy when in fact they simply do not have the heart to tell us they are simply not interested in our MLM opportunity.

The problem with being "just" a sales rep is that it's outdated. People do not have time to listen to yet another network marketing sales pitch. That does not add any value to their busy lives. You have to give them more than a product or MLM opportunity if you want their attention.
Your prospect can go out and join any one of a hundred different MLM opportunities. Yours is not any more unique than the rest.

When I mentioned that we have got to learn how to sell, I am not referring to the type of selling most people think of - the kind their companies teach - they are two completely different things.
What is it that makes sales so hard? It's having to convince the prospect that they want what you offer when really they don't. What if the other person already wants what you have and is already looking for it? Then the "type" of selling you're doing is completely different. You're educating them instead of pitching them.

Here's a little hint: The gurus don't pitch their business opportunities. Why? Because they know that that's not what people are looking for.

The way multi level marketing is really done - the way the gurus who make hundreds of thousands in year do it - is by putting their opportunity on the backend and forgetting about it. And I'm not talking about selling your company's products either. There's something else they sell in order to build their business that you won't hear about from them, your company, or your upline. So what do the gurus sell?

Here are some of the things I realized:

1. The gurus only invested time in those who were already seeking for what they had to offer.

2. They understood what people really want (or do not want). And so they offered more than an opportunity, which was just another means to an end. They offered their customers something of much greater worth, something their business opportunities could never provide: Themselves and their expertise.

3. They picked up sales and marketing techniques from sources outside of their company. Because what they were doing was not taught by any MLM company.

4. They gave their prospects a ton of value first before asking for money or any kind of commitment. This might sound strange, but it is the only formula used to build an enormously profitable businesses by every great marketer

5. They help people build their businesses using a duplicable marketing system. They offered them the "how" rather than the "what."

By doing these, they set themselves apart from all the zealous sales reps out there peddling their wares and they attracted people to them by the hundreds and thousands.

The lesson? Very often, the best marketing decision will be to go against the grain and differentiate yourself. If you're interested in learning how to EFFECTIVELY position youself as a leader in whatever industry you're MLM opportunity is in FOR FREE, click here.

Not really. More of a basic guide to networking marketing; the very basic concept of MLM back when there was no internet, no 3-way calls, video conference, etc. How network marketing was done when it'd just came about in the 1950s. Do read with careful judgement as not everything can be applied to Singapore and today's context.

"...i've never made love by lantern shine, I've never seen roses in my wine, but now that your lips are burning mine, I'm beginning to see the light..."

The painting details a fishing village on a moonlit evening, capturing a simple but elegant interplay of lights and colours somewhat alien to busy urban life. I was inspired to come up with this work on one of my wakeboarding trips, when we passed by a fishing village during sunset.

Sunrise and Sunflowers

This painting was done in 2005. There you have it, sunrise over a field of sunflowers, with some cypruses. To all the botanical snobs out there, yea, I know that the sunflowers ought to face the sun. But oh well, my painting.
This one's not for sale. Gave it to a good friend. Long time ago.

About

Posted by Nevio | 3:31 PM

Welcome to Nevio Network
Hi, my name's Nevio Lee. Born in 1988, I have been living and growing up in Singapore for the past 20 years and still am. Unfortunately.

This blog originally started as an experiment in internet marketing while I was serving in the army and had wanted to generate some passive income in order to pay for my university tuition fees and expensive hobbies such as wakeboarding and painting. The overall topic here is sort of ‘anything goes’ although my primary focus tends to be on entrepreneurship, art and wakeboarding. I also mention various internet marketing topics from time to time as well as my own merchandise.

This site serves as a place for me to share my life experiences, provide my customers and interested parties of merchandise updates, and a place of learning and discussion for fellow networkers and people looking to start a home business.

I'd also like to meet beautiful people full of life and creativity, with a spirit melded from the combination of Apollo and Dionysus; a ferocious blond beast constantly overcoming the self, constantly directing and redirecting the torrents of passion and chaos that flow from their souls, one who builds upon the base human impulses and creates upon them establishing higher level impluses, higher and higher as their power grows, far exceeding the level of the masses until reaching the level of ubermensch. Or a hot chick will do - nothing under 16 though, I mean, I'm not a freak you know.
